Genesis Response

Thank you to those of you who replied to my last post, That was kind of the response I figured I would get.... "More Explanation Please"

Here it is again for you to re-read.

Genesis 5:21-24 NASB

"Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him."

First you are right this is a lot of genealogical information, but we must remember that this information is important, most of us just skip through Mathew 1:1-17, but this information helps us in seeing old testament prophesy fulfilled. It may take us some time to figure out why this information is important but often times it's worth looking into.

However, moving on to the highlighted information. "Enoch walked with God three hundred years"

Q. Don't we sometimes struggle to walk with God day to day(300 years)?
Q. Do we truly walk with God, or do we fit God into our schedules?
Q. How close are our walks with God? As close as Enoch's was?
Q. What does it mean to walk with God?

"And he was not, for God took him"

How cool is that? "And he was not," the passage doesn't say that Enoch died it says "he was not". What does this mean? I can picture this in my head as two close friends walking and talking every day and then returning to each ones homes, but on this particular night God looks at Enoch and says you know we are closer to my house tonight why don't you come home with me??? Enoch didn't die, God brought him into His house without facing death. Elijah also went to heaven without facing death. (2 Kings 2:1-11)

I guess that I find it really cool to see that Enoch had such a close walk with God. Can I personally obtain such a closeness? I know that God wants and desires that closeness with all His children, so am I willing to sacrifice the things that occupy my time and fill those with God? Do I currently walk with God daily or is He a fill in when I have time or need him?

Just a few thoughts.

One of My Favorite Passages

This is one of my favorite passages in the Old Testament:

Genesis 5:21-24 NSAB

"Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he bacame the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him."

Any thoughts from my readers??? I'll post my thoughts on this scripture tomorrow.

God Bless

Hey to everyone

Well after about 6 months without posting a thing I figured I would try again. Hopefully I'll remember to keep up with this blogging thing. I have decided to spend the next several days reworking my blog site and this should keep me motivated and on track. So I thought today I would just let you know I'm back for the time being and will be reworking the blog. As I start to add content please pass my blog address around. I think it would be easier for me to continue if I know people are reading. But for now, may God Bless you and keep you.
